Going Around Ayutthaya

Me, Femie, Marian, eve, Jean Jean, Cicha and Jinn (Puu is sitting beside the driver)

The first week on Saturday, I, Jinn, Cicha and her buddy named Puu, and other four fellow Filipinos (Eve, Femie, Jean Jean and Marian) went to Ayutthaya. Experiencing new things and seeing good views were our main purposes. We left university at about 11.00 am. We took the bus and only within 20 minutes we’ve arrived there. We stopped in front of a mall. We had lunch together it the mall. After that, we took ‘Tuk Tuk’ to go to the temple. Each of us had to pay 23 Baht for the fare. The Tuk Tuk is a small car with only three wheels. It’s like Bajay in Indonesia, but it looks better and doesn’t expel any noisy sound.

Once I arrived in the temple, I saw so many tourists. There were Chinese, Indian, Western people and many others. As usual, we always documented every moment. We took a lot of pictures. I entered the temple and stepped up some stairs to go in. In there, I saw there is a deep well and a lot of coins in it. People said that if we throw the coin into the well and if the coin enters a bowl in the middle of the well, their wish may come true.

After going around the temple, we took Tuk Tuk again and continued our trip to go to the floating market. It’s located near to the temple. It only took about 10 minutes to get there. As I arrived there, I saw some elephants with some people on them and a small elephant under them. The elephants are really huge. I was so excited because it was my first time to see elephants. I was thinking about how heavy those elephants are. I thought it could be 5 until 10 tons, but I’m not sure. I also saw people feeding the elephants with bananas. The elephant took the banana with its rhino and put it on its mouth. I saw it right in front of my eyes, only 1 meter in distance.

I really want to ride the elephant, but I couldn’t because the price is quite expensive. It’s 600 Baht for each person. Thus, I just took a picture with the elephant because I didn’t have much money. Then, we entered the floating market. Puu said that we actually should pay to enter it, but because we look like Thai people so may enter it for free. She told us to keep quiet and do not speak in English. It was successful. Now, we’ve already entered it. It looked so beautiful. There is a river across the market and some boats above it. There are many people selling food, clothes and souvenirs. We bought some nice souvenirs such as key holders, wallets, etc. to be brought to our home country. It took more than one hour to choose the souvenirs because there are so many options. Ahahaha.. At last, we went back to the university and got there at about 6.00 pm. We were so happy and had so much fun on that day.
